What's the Mirage Library for?
Honestly, mostly just to chronicle thoughts about any niche/less frequently discussed neat games I play that I find interesting. Don't take anything I say here as some sort of formal review--I just like talking about things I think are cool and good and sometimes sharing screenshots that I like. That, and as someone plagued with a reasonably poor memory, it's a nice way for me to look back at stuff months and years down the line. In a way, it's a little bit selfish like that...
I'm mainly interested in posting about things made in RPGMaker or other similarly-minded tools like the OHRRPGCE, neat fan-translated games, or really just anything else I find interesting that I wish more people knew about. There's a lot of valuable and great niche media out there, and even if I'm just one person with like one or two people reading my posts on here... well, the more writing there is about them the better, I think.
Where can I actually find any games you post about?
I can't help with emulation stuff, and as for RPGMaker games, I believe rpgmaker.net's downloads are still down as of the writing of this page. While I personally keep RPGMaker stuff I downloaded saved and backed up on an external drive--and I certainly don't mind uploading them somewhere if anyone needs--you may wish to peruse rpgmaker.net's archives from the Internet Archive, though I can't make any guarantees about how easy it is or isn't to sift through since I haven't used it myself... yet.
Otherwise, when possible, if there's a totally normal link like an itch.io page or something that I can provide, I will do so in the post.
What qualifies as "neat" things to you?
Hell, I'm still working THAT one out. I love RPGs most of all in all the forms of expression they can take, but there are plenty of my favorite games that are definitely not RPGs. I've also played some very Not Good things before just for the yuri, and by god, I'll do it again. I'd say probably just go look at my pinned post on my bsky for a better idea of my tastes.
You should definitely play/read/watch this one specific thing because I know you'd have Feelings about it and I need to be able to politely yell at you to do so!!!
That's scary!! I dunno just like yell at me on bsky or something. Or discord if you have me there. Finding out about new things is neat.
